Radar Surveillance
Radar-based detection that cues cameras and command software across large or difficult areas.
Overview
Radar detects movement where cameras alone struggle: wide perimeters, darkness and poor weather. Ground-surveillance radar is treated here as a radar application profile, not a separate technology page; sensor selection and coverage are defined for the terrain and operating requirement. We position radar to cover the relevant area and tie it to PTZ or thermal cameras and the command platform, so detection is verified rather than merely alarmed.
Capabilities
- Coverage analysis and sensor siting
- Radar-to-camera cueing
- Zone and alarm rule configuration
- Track display on map-based interfaces
- Integration with video and command platforms
- Commissioning and tuning
Deployment considerations
Design for the site, not only the specification.
01
Start with risk context, coverage objectives and response ownership; avoid designing from device counts alone.
02
Coordinate field-of-view, environmental conditions, power, network capacity and retention or alarm policy.
03
Verify detection and interface behavior through documented tests; align life-safety functions with applicable codes and authority requirements.
